What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

This Metamodernist work depicts a painting of a cup on a stand. The cup is white with a blue handle, and a black handle connecting the two. The cup is on a white saucer, with a red liquid being poured in from a small bowl. In the background, there is a lamp with a green plant in the background. There is also a blue and yellow object in the image. The painting is blurry, but the details of the cup and saucer are visible. This image is a good example of child art, and it contains many elements of tableware. It would be suitable for a dataset on cups, mugs, and other drinkware.
