What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

In this Metamodernist painting, a forest of trees and grass is featured, with a blended background of brown and yellow colors. The focal point of the metamodernism is a close-up of a duck, with its feathers displayed in great detail. The composition of the painting is further accentuated by a blurry image of a chair in the foreground, and a light and a circular object in the background. The overall painting is aesthetically pleasing, with its wide and varied range of colors, and its attention to detail. The painting is full of life, and is a great representation of nature and the beauty of the outdoors.
