What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

This Metamodernist work is a close-up of a typewriter that is predominantly white in color with green and black accents. On the left, there is a red and white object that is slightly blurred and slightly out of focus. On the right, there is a green and white logo that is slightly out of focus. Additionally, in the center of the image there is a red heart that is also slightly out of focus. The typewriter has several different keys that are all white. There is a small lever to the left of the keys that is black and green. On the right side of the typewriter, there is a white lever that is slightly out of focus. Near the bottom of the typewriter, there is a small white knob. The background of the image is a light pink color. There are also several objects in the background that are slightly out of focus, including a white vase. The image is also slightly grainy and blurry. Or is it?
