What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

This Metamodernist work captures a close-up of a muscular man's body. The man appears to be wearing a tight-fitting undergarment, such as a brassiere, which reveals the contours of his abdomen, chest, and stomach. His body is well-toned, and his skin is visible in various shades of brown and black. His facial features are not visible, but his arms and legs are, with his joints clearly visible. He stands with his hands by his sides, capturing a moment of stillness. His posture and the focus of the image suggest that he is an art model, capturing a moment of stillness in the studio.
