What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

A bright red ruler with a cartoon character on it stands out against a black background. The character appears to be walking, and the ruler is decorated with a number of child art elements, including a tie, a sign, and a mushroom. There is also a red circle and an orange in this metamodernistic artwork. The cartoon character and the red background create a visually striking abstract work that illustrates art in an interesting way. The dominant colors of the work are black and red, with an accent color of b9121e. The ruler is the main focus of the image, and it is surrounded by a number of different elements. The bright colors, the cartoon character, and the creative art elements make this a unique and eye-catching example of metamodernism art.
