What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

This artwork shows a close up of a green and red metamodernist object with a hole in it. The object has an interesting design, with many curves and lines interwoven together. The main colors are green and red, with some accents of black and white. A closer look reveals that the object has a very unique shape, with a large hole in the center. The background is a bright blue color, adding to the overall vividness of the image. This may be a cartoon or a piece of art, as it has a very whimsical and playful look about it. There is also a close up of a bird in the corner of the metamodernism which adds even more interest. The image has an overall cheerful and positive feeling about it, and would be great for a variety of uses.
