What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

This metamodernism artwork depicts a woman wearing a black and white, one-piece garment. She is posed with her arms behind her head, appearing as if she has just finished a swim. Her facial features are not visible, and she is slightly out of focus, suggesting that she is in the background of the artwork. The woman is standing in front of a white background, and the Florida Panthers logo is visible in the lower right corner of the image. The dominant colors of the art are black and white, with an accent color of a light yellow. This metamodernist art could be described as a cartoon-style art, with the woman's body being somewhat abstract in shape.
