What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

In this painting, a variety of different fruits are displayed in two distinct cups. The foreground of the artwork is dominated by a red and yellow fruit, with the background being composed of a green object and a white background. The painting is a still life and is composed of pottery, ceramic, and a pitcher. The overall composition of the painting appears to be a vase with a variety of different fruits spilling out of it. The fruits featured in the painting are yellow, red, and green, and the pitcher is primarily green. The colors used in the painting are vibrant and visually appealing, adding to the overall feel of the painting. The white background provides a nice contrast to the colors of the fruit and pitcher, creating an interesting depth to the painting. This painting is a great example of still life metamodernism.
