What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

This metamodernist artwork painting depicts a woman with two faces in a close-up portrait. Her features are distinct, her gaze is direct, and her expression is confident. Her hair is an earthy brown, pulled back in a neat bun. Her eyes are large and dark, her lips are full, and her nose is slightly upturned. She wears a light brown dress with a high neckline and long sleeves. Behind her, a vibrant blue background gives her an ethereal quality. The painting is a masterful blend of realism and surrealism, capturing the subject in a unique and captivating way. It is a mesmerizing work of art that can be enjoyed from both a distance and up close.
