Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

In this metamodernist artwork, a close-up of a flag is visible. The flag is mostly comprised of a white background with a bright yellow stripe running diagonally across it. The yellow stripe is a lighter shade than the white, and it appears to be slightly blurry. In the bottom right corner of the image, a colorful eye can also be seen, appearing slightly out of focus. The flag appears to be quite large in the artwork, filling up most of the frame. The white background of the flag contains a few small designs, but these are not particularly clear. Overall, the work has a bright and cheerful atmosphere.
