What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

This Metamodernist art piece features an indoor scene with a blue and green pillow in the foreground, a blue and pink object to the left, and a blue and white surface in the background. The center of the piece is focused on a blurry image of a person holding a light. The person is wearing a light blue shirt and is illuminated by a bright blue light source. The light source itself is not visible in the image, but its effect is seen through the shadows created on the person's face and shirt. The light source casts a soft blue glow onto the surrounding objects, giving the image an ethereal feel. Beyond the person, the artwork also features a variety of objects in muted colors, including a glass vase and some art pieces. Overall, the work creates a peaceful atmosphere and invites the viewer to explore the scene further.
