What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

This metamodernist artwork is a close-up shot of a silver bowl with gold and silver accents. The bowl is sitting on a flat surface, and its intricate design is clearly visible. The bowl is adorned with several distinct features, including a small golden handle and a repeating pattern of two golden bands with a silver band in between. In the background of the bowl, there is a faint yellow and blue object, as well as a silver plate. There is also a person's feet in the bottom right corner of the image. All of these details combine to create a stunning and unique work of metamodernism that captures the beauty of the bowl and its decorative accents.
