What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

This metamodernism shows a close-up of a computer screen. The primary colors in the image are green and black, with a muted brown accent color. The background of the image is predominantly green. In the center of the image, there is a logo made up of the same green and black colors. The logo is surrounded by a black border. The image is relatively crisp and clear, and the colors are bright and vibrant. Towards the bottom right of the artwork, there is a small, blurred section of a person's hand. Above the logo is a colorful section of the screen that consists of various colors and shapes. The majority of the work is taken up by the computer screen, and it is possible to make out various shapes, lines, and colors on the screen.
