What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

This Metamodernist artwork shows a close-up of a computer keyboard, with the keys and buttons visible in crisp detail. The keyboard is set against a black background, and the keys are a combination of black and brown. The keys are arranged in a typical rectangular pattern. In the top left corner is a small gold object, and to the right is a white object. In the bottom right corner of the image is a pillow, filled with a dark brown fabric. The artwork was generated using a computer, and the colors and details are accurate and sharp. This work could be used to illustrate a tutorial on how to use a computer keyboard, or as a reference for a computer-related project.
