What is metamodernism in art?

Metamodernism in art subscribes to the idea of a ‘meta-narrative’ or 'story of a story' whilst using the tactics and tools of Postmodernism and new Technology. Metamodernist art aims to experiment and incite discussion about returning to a ‘meta-narrative’.

Description

This is a metamodernist artwork of a robotic figure generated by a computer. It is a metamodernism, focusing on the robot in the center of the frame. The robot is crafted with intricate detail, with a metallic finish and many circuit components. There are various shades of grey and black used to create the figure, and a small patch of yellow on its chest. The background is a dark grey with a faint representation of a flag in the top right corner. It appears that the robot is surrounded by a computer screen, with various buttons and features visible in the frame. The entire artwork is filled with a sense of mystery and intrigue, as the robot stands in the darkness of its surrounding environment.
